"Always delightful," says James Suckling, a former senior editor, European office director at Wine Advocate, and an American wine reviewer. "The hip stuff you have to drink," says Food and Wine's Ray Isle. Jancis Robinson, the famous British wine writer, described it as "much more palate-grabbing than the Provencal Pink standard."

Whispering Angel was first promoted outside of France by Château d'Esclans in 2007. At the time, the marketplace for rose was minimal, reserved for wealthy vacationers. "It was not fashionable," Paul Chevalier explains. He is in charge of Château d'Esclans and Whispering Angel throughout the Western World as the national wine director for Shaw-Ross International Importers.
THE ANGEL DOES HAVE FIVE SISTERS.
Whispering Angel is a member of a rose family that also involves The Palm ($15), a new, much more affordable option, and Garrus, a high price $100 rose. Garrus was dubbed the "best rose ever" by Suckling. A bottle of the company's signature Whispering Angel Rose may cost up to $21 in the United States.
PINK IS ALWAYS IN STYLE THESE DAYS.
This rose is ideal for not only the day, as well as for the entire year. Chevalier taught American restaurants and customers on the winter believability of pink wine. "Restaurants are now required to keep rose on their wine lists because millennials prefer it," Chevalier adds.
WHISPERING ANGEL WAS NOT EVEN REQUIRED TO ADVERTISE.
Whispering Angel was very popular in the United States shortly afterward. What is the brand strategy? Follow the millennials. Whispering Angel went from a whisper to a shout due to brand deals with New York's SoHo House, Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont, Beverly Hills Hotel, and Miami's Fontainebleau. "These were all locations where millennials would just go, so we didn't do any promotion, just word of mouth," Chevalier explains.

Between 2016 and 2017, the producer increased by 58 percent.
IN THE LAST TEN YEARS, CHATEAU D'ESCLANS EXPORTS TO THE US HAVE SOARED BY WITH ALMOST 40,000 PERCENT.
In the first year, the winery sold 800 cases of rose. In 2017, that figure surpassed 300,000 people. That's quite a lot of pink.
